In short: if Kavieo charged you and you haven't used the service, you'll get a refund. If you bought a product from a creator on Kavieo, the creator sets their own refund terms — we provide the tools to honour them.
1. Refunds from Kavieo (your subscription)
14-day moneyback on first subscription
If you subscribe to a paid Kavieo plan for the first time and decide it's not for you within 14 days, email us. We will refund the most recent charge in full and cancel your subscription. No forms to fill. No "why" quiz. No retention calls.
After 14 days
Fees already paid are non-refundable except where legally required or at our sole discretion (we genuinely do exercise discretion — if a charge happened during a lockout, if we had a bad outage, if life intervened, write to us). Cancellations stop future renewals.
Yearly plans
A yearly plan is eligible for a pro-rated refund of the unused months if you cancel within the first 30 days. After 30 days, yearly subscriptions are non-refundable but continue to work until the end of the period you already paid for.
Platform fees
The per-transaction platform fee is earned at the moment of a buyer's successful purchase. When a buyer refund is issued by a creator, the platform fee on that transaction is refunded to the creator automatically within seven business days.
2. Refunds from creators (products you bought)
How to request
Refunds on creator products are issued by the creator, not by Kavieo. To request one:
- Open your purchase from the email receipt or your buyer dashboard.
- Click "Request refund" and fill in the reason.
- The creator is notified immediately and has 7 days to respond.
Default creator refund policies
Unless a creator explicitly states otherwise on their sales page, these defaults apply:
- Digital downloads: full refund within 7 days if the file has not been downloaded.
- Online courses: full refund within 14 days if less than 25% of the content has been accessed.
- Paid communities: pro-rated refund on cancellation within the first 14 days of the most recent billing period.
- Coaching sessions: full refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before the session. No refund within 24 hours unless the creator agrees.
- Software & subscriptions: governed by the creator's published terms.
Creators can override the defaults
Creators may publish a custom refund policy for any product. Where present, that policy takes precedence. It must be visible on the sales page before purchase — Kavieo will not enforce refund terms that were not disclosed at the point of sale.
If a creator doesn't respond
If a creator fails to respond within 7 days of a valid refund request, write to contact@kavieo.com with your order ID. We review, and where the creator's stated policy clearly warrants a refund, we will process it directly and reconcile with the creator.
3. Payment-processor refunds
All refunds are issued back to the original payment method via the payment processor used at purchase. Processing times depend on the processor and the buyer's bank, typically 3–10 business days. Currency conversion losses (if any) are absorbed by the creator, not the buyer.
4. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us or the creator, we may temporarily suspend your buyer account pending review. We strongly prefer direct resolution — it's faster, cheaper, and doesn't hurt the creator's standing.
